I despise Taylor Swift.
I LIVE IN NASHVILLE I KNOW TOO MUCH ABOUT THIS BITCH. TOO. MUCH. She filmed “Teardrops on My Guitar“‘s music video in my high school, fun fact. But. the point.I hate her. Her music is the same brand of generic pop that a lot of people put out— it’s hardly unique. Her lyrics are sometimes okay, but mostly sub-par (“why you gotta be so mean” wow really I’m so glad I wrote something like that in third grade). And I’m sorry, but I can’t find merit in someone who sings about two things and two things only:
Getting together and falling in love and happy endings and best life ever OUR SONG IS A LOVE STORY LOL
or
he broke up with me he was a jerk I hate him he’s horrible YOU’RE NOT SORRY JOE JONAS JOHN MAYER JAKE GUILLENHAAL WHOEVER ELSE I’VE DATED LATELY
Furthermore, it bothers the fuck out of me how these break ups never seem to be her fault in the songs. There’s no ‘I’m sorry for how I acted’, it’s more of a WELL YOU LEFT ME SO /SHRUGS. But from what I’ve heard, she’s done most of the leaving.… and I don’t like her voice. … or the slut shaming she does (which, try as you might to convince me otherwise, slut shaming is slut shaming). Or the reverse sexism/actual sexism she tends to employ in most of her ‘perfect love’ scenarios.Yeaaaaaaah.
